Train Stabbing in UK: Police Identify 32 Year Old as Sole Suspect in Fatal Attack

Police confirm one suspect in custody after knife attack on Doncaster–London train leaves 11 injured

London, Nov 3 — British police on Sunday identified a 32 year old man as the sole suspect in a violent stabbing attack aboard a train in eastern England that left at least 11 passengers injured.

Earlier, authorities had detained two British nationals  a 32 year old and a 35 year old   but later released the latter without further action. “The 32 year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody,” police said in a statement, adding that a knife was recovered from the scene.

The incident occurred Saturday evening on a train travelling from Doncaster to London, forcing an emergency stop at Huntingdon station in Cambridgeshire to allow police to intervene.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as passengers tried to flee the attack. “I saw a man with a bloodied arm running down the carriage, shouting ‘They’ve got a knife,’” one witness told local media. “There was blood on the seats, people were screaming, and others hid in the toilets.”

Authorities have launched a full investigation into the motive behind the assault, while forensic teams continue to examine the train. Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to passenger safety.
