TV artist Amreena Bhat killed, nephew injured in Chadoora shooting

25-05-2022 : On Wednesday, militants shot and killed a 35-year-old TV artist in the Chadoora area of Budgam district. The attack also injured a 10-year-old boy, the woman’s nephew.
Amreena Bhat of Hushroo Chadoora was killed, along with her nephew, after terrorists opened fire on them, gravely injuring them. They were rushed to a local hospital, where Amreen died as a result of her injuries. Her 10-year-old nephew’s condition is said to be stable.
The Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital, stated that the slain was brought to the hospital dead. She had been shot numerous times and from a close distance. Her nephew is in good health and is no longer in danger.
Officials reported that troops began a huge search operation after the incident to apprehend the perpetrators.
The terrorists shot upon one lady Amreen Bhat D/o Khazir Mohd Bhat R/o Hushroo Chadoora at her residence, a police spokesperson said. She was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, where doctors pronounced her dead. Her 10-year-old nephew, who was also at home, was shot in the arm.
“This terrible terror incident involved three terrorists from the banned terror group LeT. A search has been launched once the area has been sealed off. “A case has been filed, and an investigation is underway,” he stated.
Meanwhile, police have filed a case under the relevant sections of the law. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are working to determine the facts regarding the incident, he said.
Following the incident, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers sealed off the area in order to track down and catch the perpetrators.
Amreen was a well-known tiktok artist with thousands of followers on social media. She formerly worked on famous cable channels and the DD Kasher Channel.
