Two Hurt in Separate Bear Attacks in Jammu & Kashmir’s Doda District

Locals intervene as wild bear injures a woman and a man in Kashtigarh; authorities urged to act

JAMMU, Dec 8: Two people, including a woman, sustained injuries after a wild bear attacked them in separate incidents in the Kashtigarh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday, officials reported.

The injured have been identified as Rubina and Muneer. Promptly, locals intervened and managed to drive the bear back into the forest before rushing the victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Villagers expressed growing concern following the incidents and have appealed to the wildlife department to implement safety measures to prevent further attacks in the area.
