Two Indian Students Killed in Aircraft Crash During Flight Training in Canada

TORONTO, Sept 21: Two Indian students have died in an air accident in Canada while undergoing flight training, the Consulate General of India in Vancouver said.
The deceased were identified as Manoj Sivakumar from Tamil Nadu and Srisaran Thirugnanasambantham from Puducherry. Both were pursuing flight training in Canada when the accident occurred.
The Indian mission expressed condolences following the incident and conveyed its sympathies to the families of the two students.
In a post on X, the Consulate General of India in Vancouver said it was deeply saddened by the deaths of Sivakumar and Thirugnanasambantham. The mission described the incident as a tragic air accident that occurred during their flight training.
The Consulate said its thoughts were with the families and loved ones of the deceased during the difficult period.
It also assured the families that it was prepared to provide all possible consular assistance, including support related to the repatriation of the students’ mortal remains to India.
The deaths have brought renewed attention to the risks associated with aviation training, where student pilots undertake practical flying exercises as part of their professional preparation. Flight training in Canada attracts students from several countries because of the country’s established aviation training infrastructure and flying conditions.
