UGC Pushes for Digital Expansion in Higher Education Institutions
Universities encouraged to adopt hybrid learning and advanced digital tools
New Delhi, Apr 4: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has intensified efforts to accelerate digital higher education expansion across universities and colleges in India.
Officials said institutions are being encouraged to adopt hybrid learning models, integrating online and offline teaching methods to improve accessibility and flexibility for students.
The initiative includes the use of virtual classrooms, AI-based learning platforms, and digital content repositories to modernize the education system. Universities have also been advised to upgrade infrastructure and train faculty in digital teaching practices.
According to officials, the move aims to bridge gaps in access to quality education, particularly for students in remote and underserved regions.
The UGC believes that strengthening digital ecosystems in higher education will not only enhance learning outcomes but also prepare students for a technology driven global workforce.
