“Samridhh Kisan, Shashakt Uttar Pradesh” vision strengthened as farmers benefit from timely payments and transparent system
Lucknow, Nov 29: The Yogi Adityanath government is turning its vision of “Samridhh Kisan, Shashakt Uttar Pradesh” into reality by ensuring prosperity for the state’s paddy farmers through record level procurement and rapid MSP payments.
Between October 1 and November 28, over 1.39 lakh farmers sold 8.28 lakh metric tonnes of paddy across 4,225 procurement centres in Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh. A total of 5.44 lakh farmers have registered for paddy sales so far this season.
To ensure transparency and efficiency, the government has introduced e-POP biometric verification, procurement only from registered farmers, elimination of middlemen, and MSP payments within 48 hours. Common variety paddy is procured at ₹2,369 per quintal and Grade-A at ₹2,389 per quintal.
The initiative, regularly monitored by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, aims to maximize farmer incomes, strengthen trust in the mandi system, and support the state’s goal of empowering its agricultural community.
