UP Govt Distributes 5,000 CSR Relief Kits in Kheri, Showcases Model of Public Partnership
District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal leads initiative; 5,000 CSR-funded kits worth ₹45 lakh distributed to flood-affected families.
Uttar Pradesh : The Uttar Pradesh government has showcased a model of public participation in disaster relief by distributing 5,000 CSR-funded special kits to flood affected families in Lakhimpur Kheri district.
The initiative, spearheaded by District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal, has made Kheri the first district in the state to provide CSR-backed relief kits in addition to government aid and compensation. Prepared at a cost of ₹45 lakh with support from the corporate sector, entrepreneurs, and voluntary organisations, each kit worth around ₹900 contains essential items such as a mosquito net, umbrella, battery-operated flashlight, sanitary pads, and a hot water thermos.
District Magistrate Nagpal underlined that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath always stands firmly with the people during crises, ensuring not only immediate assistance but also personally reaching out to victims. To guarantee fair distribution, the administration identified needy groups including destitute women, persons with disabilities, and elderly citizens above 70 years across five flood-affected tehsils.
On Thursday, Nagpal, along with MLA Yogesh Verma, distributed the CSR kits in Sadar tehsil. Similar relief drives are being conducted in Nighasan, Dhaurahra, Gola Gokarnanath, and Palia tehsils. She further assured that more kits will be prepared if additional needs arise.
