Stellar Raids and Rock-Solid Defence Help UP Yoddhas Snap Four-Game Losing Streak in PKL 12
In a commanding performance at the SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, UP Yoddhas ended their four-match losing streak with a 39-22 victory over Tamil Thalaivas in PKL 12. Sumit Sangwan spearheaded the all round effort, completing a high five, while defenders Mahender Singh and Ashu Singh contributed four tackles each to stifle the opposition.
The first half saw both sides locked in a tight contest, with Nitesh Kumar and Narender Kandola keeping Tamil Thalaivas in the game, while UP Yoddhas’ Gagan Gowda and Bhavani Rajput opened the scoring. Shivam Chaudhary’s multi-point raid and a tightening defence gave UP Yoddhas a 15-10 lead at halftime.
The second half belonged entirely to UP Yoddhas. Ashu Singh and the defensive trio inflicted multiple all-outs, extending their lead to seventeen points. Despite Nitesh Kumar’s efforts, Tamil Thalaivas struggled offensively, allowing UP Yoddhas to dominate the rest of the match. Sumit Sangwan capped off the evening with a high five, sealing a comprehensive 39-22 win.
