Vaibhav Suryavanshi Slams Fourth-Fastest Youth Test Century Against Australia U19
Teen prodigy becomes only the second player after Brendon McCullum to score two U19 Test centuries under 100 balls.
India’s 14 year old cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues to etch his name in history books, this time by smashing the fourth fastest Youth Test century with a blistering 78 ball ton for India U19 against Australia U19 at the Ian Healy Oval on Wednesday.
With this feat, Suryavanshi also became the only batter after Brendon McCullum to record two U19 Test centuries in under 100 balls. His previous milestone came with a 58-ball century against Australia U19 in Chennai last year the second fastest Youth Test century ever, behind Moeen Ali’s record.
Suryavanshi’s fiery knock of 113 off 86 balls included eight sixes and nine boundaries, before being dismissed by Hayden Schiller. Partnering him, Vedant Trivedi also impressed with a solid 140 from 192 deliveries.
This milestone adds to Suryavanshi’s growing list of records. Just last week, he overtook Unmukt Chand’s tally of 38 sixes to set a new benchmark for the most career sixes in Youth ODI cricket achieving 41 sixes in only 10 innings. Earlier this year, his 143 off 78 balls against England made him the youngest centurion in U19 ODIs and the holder of the fastest century in the format at just 52 balls.
Suryavanshi’s exploits aren’t limited to youth cricket. He stunned the cricketing world by making his IPL debut at just 14 years and 23 days, later becoming the youngest centurion in IPL history with a breathtaking 35 ball hundred against Gujarat Titans. He finished IPL 2025 with 252 runs in seven matches, striking at 206.56, and earned the Super Striker of the Season award.
