Valmiki, Gorkha Samaj celebrate abrogation of Article 370
05-08-2023 : Valmiki, Gorkha Samaj and other communities celebrated the abrogation of Article 370 in programmes organized by J&K BJP SC Morcha.
Ravinder Raina, J&K BJP President, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, BJP General Secretary Dr. Devinder Manyal, BJP SC Morcha President Neelam Langeh, Prabhari Jagdish Bhagat, Seh-Prabhari Jeet Angral were amongst the prominent to address a similar programme organized at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing on the occasion, said that the gross injustice and human rights violation were meted out to the many communities living in Jammu & Kashmir. He said that the refugees from West Pakistan were treated as second-class citizens in J&K, whereas another refugee Man Mohan Singh ji was able to serve as PM because of living in other part of India. Similarly, the communities like Valmikis, Gorkhas, Paharis, OBCs, Gujjar-Bakerwals, women, etc. were never given any right as independent residents of this vibrant democracy. Human Right acts, Panchayati Raj was not allowed in J&K so as to deprive people of their rights. Grass root level democracy was never implemented in J&K. For 70 long years, rights were denied to them by Congress, NC, PDP.
Valmiki, Gorkha, WPRs were not treated as sons and daughters of the soil; they could not vote and participate in the Assembly, and local elections. They have got honour under leaderhip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, said Ravinder Raina and added that today every person residing in Jammu & Kashmir has got rights and are getting direct benefits under welfare schemes initiated by PM Modi like PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman golden Card, Pension, Kissan Samman Nidhi, Scholarships to SC, ST students, road networks, highways, electricity.
Kavinder Gupta congratulated the Valmiki Samaj for getting the honour for which their community had been agitating for decades together after independence. He said that Narendra Modi government has shown real concern towards the welfare of this deprived section of the society and paved the way for their socio-economic upliftment.
Dr. Devinder Manyal said that the Valmikis have been given the basic right to vote for democracy besides all other facilities being enjoyed by the other citizens under Modi government, which is a big gift to the community. He said that they would get practical for what they had been demanding for a long.
Neelam Langeh said that the BJP SC Morcha is getting strengthened with each passing day as more and more members of different communities, including the Valmiki Samaj is coming into the fold of the party after being realized that it is only BJP which can do better for their present and the future generations. Langeh said that the Valmiki Samaj should be thankful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming their lives. He added that this is possible only because of the abrogation of Article 370 by Modi government on 5th August 2019.
Vijay Anand Gill, Seema Kumari, BL Rao, Vandana Thappa (Sarpanch), Mohinder Bhagat, Rakesh Sangral, Adarsh Jathiar, Gulshan Bhagat, Rakesh Dev, Hanj Raj Loria, Yashpaul Shivgotra, Manohar Lal Menia, Vikas Bhatti, Ashwani Charak, Sham Lal were amongst the prominent present in the programme.
Adarsh Jathiar and Gulshan Bhagat, Morcha General Secretaries conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Similarly another programme was organized by the Gorkha Samaj at Gorkha Nagar in the presence of all the senior SC Morcha functionaries. Former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta, BJP Vice-President Anuradha Charak, Morcha President Neelam Langeh, former MLA Vikram Randhawa, Prabhari Rajeev Charak, District President Rekha Mahajan, Karuna Khsetri, Umesh Gabbar and also unfurled the Tiranga on the occasion.
