Waqf Board to be formed, digitization, geo tagging, GPS mapping of Waqf properties in J&K and Leh-Kargil: Naqvi

Geo tagging / GPS mapping of Waqf properties on a large scale is going on a war footing.

New Delhi, 04  December:  Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Waqf Boards will be set up in Jammu and Kashmir and Leh-Kargil soon and the process has been started in this regard.

Presiding over the meeting of the Central Waqf Council on Friday, Naqvi said that after the abolition of Article  370, the Waqf Boards, to be constituted for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir and Leh-Kargil, will ensure proper utilization of Waqf properties and socialize these properties. There will be a lot of help under the ‘ Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Program ‘ ( PMJVK) used for economic-educational activities.

He said that there are thousands of Waqf properties in Jammu and Kashmir and Leh-Kargil whose registration process is going on. Digitization and geo tagging, GPS mapping of Waqf properties have also been started which will be completed soon.

Naqvi said that in the Central Waqf Council meeting, taking a serious view on the breakup of Waqf properties in several states and occupation by Waqf Mafia, the State Governments have been asked to ensure the safety and good use of Waqf properties by ensuring action against such Waqf Mafia. if,  Central Waqf council team in this regard will visit these states.

The Union Minister said that under the Prime Minister’s Public Development Program, like other parts of the country, the Waqf properties in Jammu and Kashmir,  Leh-Kargil are provided by the Central Government to schools,  colleges,  ITIs,  girls hostels,  residential schools,  skill development centers,  multi-purpose Community centers, Harmony pavilions,  skill hubs,  hospitals,  business centers,  common service centers, etc. will be constructed on a large scale. The construction of these infrastructural facilities will provide better facilities for the education of the needy, especially girls, and employment opportunities for the youth.

Naqvi said that for the first time since independence, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has 100 percent funding under the Prime Minister’s Public Development Program (PMJVK) for the construction of schools,  colleges,  hospitals,  community buildings, etc. on Waqf properties across the country. is. The Modi government has expanded development plans for minorities to just 90 districts in the country,  under the Prime Minister’s Jan Vikas Program, in  308  districts, 870  blocks, 331  cities,  thousands of villages. All sections of society are benefiting from these schemes.

Minority Affairs Minister said that there are about 6  lakh  64  thousand registered Waqf properties across the country.  100% digitization of all  32 State Waqf Boards has been completed. Geo tagging / GPS mapping of Waqf properties on a large scale is going on a war footing. 32  State Waqf Boards have been provided videoconferencing facilities.  ( HC )
