Women artisans of Samba accomplish order for e-commerce platform

SAMBA, MARCH 20: The Department of Handloom and Handicrafts Samba has facilitated local women artisans to complete the product order for an e-commerce platform.

The Department collaborated with a Jammu-based e-commerce platform SHILPKARI BAZAAR and the Chamba Embroidery women artisans of Kullian Village of Samba District got the order of making 50 embroidered marks for the platform.

The artisans successfully completed the order under the guidance of Crafts Instructors of the department Suman Kumari and Rita Chib. This was the first-of-its-kind initiative by the department, where women who were mostly relegated to household chores, have taken the first few steps towards becoming self-reliant (Attam Nirbhar).
