Work on 150 Ayush Health Centres Progressing Rapidly, Says Minister Satya Kumar Yadav

₹44 crore initiative under National AYUSH Mission to boost traditional healthcare infrastructure across the state.

VIJAYAWADA: Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav on Tuesday said that construction and upgradation of 150 Ayush health centres across the state are advancing rapidly, aimed at strengthening traditional medicine systems and expanding healthcare access.

The project, being implemented at an estimated cost of ₹44 crore, is part of the 2025–26 annual plan under the National AYUSH Mission. The minister expressed confidence that all centres will be completed and made operational within the next two months.

Of the total, 90 existing centres are being modernised, while 60 new facilities are being set up in government hospitals, including Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and district hospitals. Nearly half of the work has already been completed.

The new and upgraded centres are being developed in accordance with Indian Public Health Standards guidelines and Ayushman Arogya Mandir branding norms. Each facility will include essential infrastructure such as consultation rooms, pharmacy units, reception areas and sanitation amenities.

In addition, several district hospitals across key regions are set to receive new Ayush centres, further expanding the reach of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy services.
