YOUTH ASPIRATIONS

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, addressed the Youth Festival at the BSF Camp in Paloura, Jammu. He felicitated the beneficiaries of Mission Youth’s schemes, athletes, and new recruits of Agniveer and Jammu Kashmir Police. He also launched a Rozgaar Mela and on-spot placement drive. He congratulated the winners of the athletics meet and new recruits and reiterated the commitment of the UT Government toward the aspirations of the younger population. He equally mentioned that the government is empowering the youth for tomorrow through ongoing training and skill development and the Apprentice Mela, which aims to boost their career prospects and build an entrepreneurship ecosystem. He further mentioned that financial resources and start-up support services are provided to encourage new business creation.

It is, therefore, essential to provide a platform for the youth and contribute to policy development. Institutions must provide a safe and unbiased environment that promotes free speech and constructive dialogue. It is also crucial to create policies that encourage and nurture the talents of the youth and prepare them to be the leaders of tomorrow. This includes not only academic pursuits but also knowledge about their surroundings and their ability to improve them. By empowering the youth and fostering their potential, we can create a better society for all. The youth have always played a crucial role in bringing about a revolutionary change in society. The role of youth in bringing about revolutionary change cannot be overstated. In fact, it is the youth who have the potential to shape the future of a nation. They have the energy, enthusiasm, and ideas that are needed to bring about meaningful change. To harness the potential of youth, it is essential to create an enabling environment that encourages them to participate in decision-making, formulate strategies, and execute them. One of the primary ways to achieve this is through education. Our educational institutions must focus on imparting not just academic knowledge but also practical skills that will prepare our youth for the challenges of the future. They must be taught to think critically, question the status quo, and come up with innovative solutions to problems. Apart from education, there are various other ways in which youth can be harnessed as a force for change. One way is through community engagement. Youth must be encouraged to actively participate in their communities, understand the issues that affect them, and work towards finding solutions. This could involve volunteering for social causes, participating in civic activities, and taking on leadership roles in community organizations. Another way to harness the potential of youth is through technology. Today’s youth are digital natives, and technology is an integral part of their lives. By leveraging technology, we can provide them with platforms to voice their opinions, collaborate with others, and effect change on a global scale. Social media, in particular, has emerged as a powerful tool for youth activism, enabling young people to connect with others, share their stories, and mobilize support for their causes. Therefore, it is important to create a supportive environment that protects the rights of young people and encourages their participation in a responsible and constructive manner. Our future depends on our ability to think critically, question the status quo, and come up with innovative solutions to problems. We must create an enabling environment that encourages their participation in decision-making, community engagement, and the effective use of technology. By doing so, we can harness the potential of youth as a force for positive change and create a better society for all. The potential of youth as agents of change is immense, but it requires the right policy framework, institutional support, and motivation to be realized.

 It is encouraging to see that the J&K government is taking positive steps toward harnessing the potential of youth in UT. From organizing youth conferences to promoting skill development programs and entrepreneurship, the government is providing the necessary support to empower the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Such initiatives will not only create opportunities for the youth but also help in building a better society. It is important for the government to continue to invest in the youth and ensure that they have the necessary resources and guidance to realize their potential. The youth of J&K are the future of UT and the nation, and with the right support, they can be the driving force of positive change.
