Gangyal Industries Association highlight concerns over operational incentives, leasehold land ownership, and market support
Delegation led by Sh. Virendra Jain meets Commissioner Vikaramjit Singh emphasizes parity in incentives and faster resolution of issues affecting local industries.
Jammu, 05-01-2025: A delegation of the Association of Industries (Regd.) Gangyal Jammu led by its President, Sh. Virendra Jain, comprising of Sh. Sanjay Langar, General Secretary, Sh. Ajay Mahajan, Secretary, and Sh. Jatinder Singh, Treasurer, held a meeting with the Commissioner/Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Sh. Vikaramjit Singh, IPS.
Mr. Jain emphasized the implementation of the announced incentives like the turnover incentive and reimbursement of SGST, in true letter and spirit. Mr. Jain apprised the commissioner/secretary that only 10% amount of the filed claims have been released. He urged the Commissioner/Secretary to release the balance amount of the turnover incentive for the year 2021-22 at the earliest to save the existing industry from dieback.
The delegation also requested that the package of incentives must be provided to the existing industry at par with the new industry under NCSS and that a fresh package for the new industry be also formulated. Mr. Jain also urged the Commissioner/Secretary that the operational incentive to the existing industry must be on par with the new industry.
The delegation also requested the Commissioner/Secretary to convert the leasehold industrial land to ownership rights as promised earlier. The delegation also apprised the Commissioner/Secretary that the government has charged the premium from the entrepreneurs equal to the then prevalent market rate of the land at the time of allotment.
The delegation also emphasized that market support by the government is badly needed as the units engaged in manufacturing the material consumed by the government/agencies are dependent only on the government’s requirements.
The delegation apprised the Commissioner/Secretary that the cricket bat industry located in rural areas is being denied the licence to run Band Saw, which has prompted the units to close down. Mr. Jain requested to the Commissioner/Secretary that the Forest Department may be asked to issue the licence to such industry so that they can run smoothly.
The Commissioner/Secretary was very kind enough to give a patient hearing to the deliberation of the delegation. He assured that the problems put forth by the delegation would be addressed, as Govt. is already seized of these problems. He also assured that Govt. government would consult the stakeholders before finalizing a fresh package of incentives.
