Jammu, Feb 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have extended their heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, known as ‘Herath’ among the Kashmiri Pandit community. The festival, celebrated with great reverence and devotion, marks a sacred time of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

In his message, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha conveyed his best wishes for peace, prosperity, and happiness. “On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, I extend my heartfelt greetings and felicitations to all. This sacred festival, celebrated as ‘Herath’ by the Kashmiri Pandit community, is a time to rededicate ourselves to the values of truth, brotherhood, and compassion. It symbolizes our inner journey towards higher consciousness and devotion,” he said. The LG further prayed for Lord Shiva’s blessings to guide everyone on the path of righteousness.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also extended his warm greetings, emphasizing the spiritual and cultural significance of the festival. “Mahashivratri is a joyous occasion that symbolizes faith, devotion, and an opportunity for spiritual renewal. May this sacred festival bring peace, prosperity, and divine blessings to every home,” he stated. The Chief Minister also took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to share his greetings, posting: “Wishing everyone a joyous and blessed Herath!
