iPhone 17 Series to Launch in India on Sept 19, Price Range ₹82,900–2.3 Lakh

New Delhi, Sep 10: Apple on Tuesday announced the launch of its highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, with prices ranging from ₹82,900 to ₹2,29,900. The new lineup will be available in India from September 19, with pre-orders opening on September 12.

The company also introduced its thinnest iPhone ever — the iPhone Air series, measuring just 5.6mm in thickness and supporting only eSIMs. The iPhone Air will come in 256GB to 1TB storage options, starting at ₹1,19,900.

iPhone 17 Series Highlights

The iPhone 17 series comes in three models — iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple has done away with the “Plus” variant.

Base storage now starts at 256GB, as Apple has discontinued the 128GB option, pushing up entry-level pricing compared to the iPhone 16 lineup.

iPhone 17: Available in lavender, mist blue, sage, white, and black. Starts at ₹82,900 for 256GB.

iPhone 17 Pro: Priced from ₹1,34,900, available in cosmic orange, deep blue, and silver, with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

iPhone 17 Pro Max: Priced from ₹1,49,900, available in the same colours, with storage options up to 2TB, a first for Apple.

Apple CEO Tim Cook described the iPhone 17 Pro as “the most advanced iPhone ever, featuring a striking new design and powerful capability.”

Performance and Features

Powered by the new A19 chipset, the iPhone 17 is said to be 20% faster than iPhone 16, 80% faster than iPhone 15, and nearly double the speed of iPhone 13.

Battery life has improved significantly, with up to 8 extra hours of video playback compared to iPhone 16. A 10-minute charge can power 8 hours of video playback.

The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch display, an upgrade from the iPhone 16’s 6.1-inch screen.

Apple also launched the Apple Watch Ultra 3, featuring built-in satellite communications for messaging and emergency services without a cellular network. Priced at ₹89,900, it will also be available in India starting September 19.
