Bellerive Oval to Host Australia-India Women’s 3rd ODI
Match shifted from Junction Oval due to lighting delays, Cricket Tasmania steps in to host back-to-back ODIs
HOBART, Sept 10: The third Women’s One Day International (ODI) between Australia and India, scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2026, will now be played at Bellerive Oval in Hobart, following venue issues at Melbourne’s Junction Oval.
Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed the relocation after Cricket Victoria (CV) informed that the Junction Oval could not host the day/night fixture due to delays in installing new floodlights. The incomplete works would also have restricted spectator access to parts of the ground.
With the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) unavailable due to renovation works, officials ruled out rescheduling the match as a day fixture, citing the tight multiformat calendar and the short turnaround from the Hobart day/night clash on February 27.
Peter Roach, CA’s Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling, expressed disappointment at the change, noting that this season will see no women’s international match in Melbourne. “We were looking forward to celebrating the first international match under lights at Junction Oval, but logistical factors made it impossible,” he said.
CA thanked Cricket Tasmania for agreeing to host two ODIs in Hobart and urged fans to support the world champion Australian team. Ticket refunds for the Junction Oval match will be processed automatically within 24 hours.
Revised schedule in Hobart:
Australia vs India, ODI (D/N) – Friday, 27 February 2026
Australia vs India, ODI (D/N) – Sunday, 1 March 2026 (relocated from Junction Oval)
