‘Chalo Jeete Hain’, Film Inspired by PM Modi’s Childhood, Re-Releases in Theatres on His Birthday
Award-winning short film inspired by PM Modi’s childhood and Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy to screen in theatres and schools across India.
Mumbai, Sep 17 : The award-winning short film ‘Chalo Jeete Hain’ is set to return to cinemas and schools across India from September 17 to October 2, according to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Winner of the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film on Family Values in 2018, the film draws inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy: “Only those truly live who live for others.” It reportedly portrays a real-life incident from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s childhood, following a young boy, “Naru,” as he learns the value of living selflessly.
The re-release will take place in nearly 500 theatres, including popular chains like PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, Rajhans, and Miraj. In addition, lakhs of schoolchildren will watch the film as part of a nationwide educational initiative.
As part of this initiative, a campaign titled “Chalo Jeete Hain: Seva Ka Sanman” has been launched. Schools will honour their “Silent Heroes”—including watchmen, cleaning staff, drivers, and peons—recognising the invaluable work of those who often go unnoticed.
Producer Mahaveer Jain said:
“This movement carries a powerful message. It will inspire millions of young minds to value every kind of work and every individual, reminding us of the timeless values of selflessness, empathy, and duty to the nation. Through this film, we hope to ignite a spark in the youth and encourage them to live with purpose and contribute positively to society.”
The film is directed by Mangesh Hadawale and presented by Aanand L. Rai and Mahaveer Jain.
