Mukesh Singh, Former ADGP Jammu, Appointed ADGP in ITBP

1996 batch IPS officer to serve five-year tenure in Indo-Tibetan Border Police at Level-15 pay scale.

Jammu, Sep 18: Mukesh Singh, a 1996-batch IPS officer who previously served as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, has been appointed as Additional Director General in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

The appointment, approved by the competent authority, places Singh in Level-15 of the Pay Matrix. He has been posted against an existing vacancy and will assume charge from the date of joining. His tenure is set to continue until October 17, 2028, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

An official order directed that the date on which Singh assumes charge should be communicated to the Ministry. The notification reads: “Approval is conveyed for the appointment of Mukesh Singh, IPS (AGMUT:1996), as Additional Director General (Level-15) in ITBP, against an existing vacancy from the date of assumption of charge up to October 17, 2028, or until further orders.”

This appointment marks a significant leadership role for Singh in the paramilitary force responsible for guarding India’s border with China.
