UP Govt Slashes UPSRTC AC Bus Fares by Up to 10% Ahead of Dussehra, Diwali
Fare reduction on Janrath, Pink, Shatabdi, Volvo, and AC sleeper buses aims to make travel affordable ahead of Dussehra and Diwali.
In a festive initiative, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a reduction of up to 10% on all air-conditioned buses operated by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). The discounted fares will be in effect until further notice.
Highlighting the government’s focus on enhancing passenger services, Transport Minister (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh said on Wednesday that the move aims to provide commuters with a more comfortable and affordable travel experience.
The fare reduction applies to Janrath, Pink, Shatabdi, Volvo, and AC sleeper bus services. However, buses registered from 1 January 2024 onwards will not be eligible for the concession.
Updated Fare Structure (AC Bus Services):
3*2 Bus Service – Rs 1.45 per kilometre
2*2 Bus Service – Rs 1.60 per kilometre
High-End (Volvo) Buses – Rs 2.30 per kilometre
Air-Conditioned Sleeper – Rs 2.10 per kilometre
The Transport Minister also directed special counselling for drivers and conductors to encourage passenger engagement, ensuring that the corporation’s revenue remains stable despite the fare cut.
