Xi Jinping Announces Shenzhen as Host City for Next Year’s APEC Summit
Shenzhen to welcome leaders of 21 Asia-Pacific nations for China’s third APEC meet
China, Oct 01 : China will host the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in November next year, President Xi Jinping announced on Saturday.
Speaking at the concluding session of this year’s summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, Xi said the next APEC gathering of leaders from 21 Asia-Pacific economies will take place in Shenzhen, the country’s leading innovation and technology hub.
The upcoming event will mark China’s third time hosting the APEC leaders’ meeting, underlining its active role in fostering regional economic cooperation and multilateral engagement within the Asia-Pacific region.
