SCR to Run 60 Special Trains from Andhra and Telangana to Kollam Ahead of Sabarimala Season
Special services between November 2025 and January 2026 to ease travel rush during pilgrimage season
Andhra Pradesh, Nov 7 : The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced plans to operate 60 pre-Sabarimala special trains connecting major destinations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with Kollam, Kerala, to manage the expected surge of devotees traveling for the annual Sabarimala pilgrimage.
According to an SCR statement, these special trains will run between November 2025 and January 2026, ensuring smoother and more comfortable travel for pilgrims during the peak pilgrimage season. The services will connect Machilipatnam, Narsapur, and Charlapalli with Kollam, covering routes via Renigunta, Gudur, and Guntur, among others.
Train Details and Routes
Train No. 07101/07102 (Machilipatnam–Kollam) – 10 trips via Gudur and Renigunta, halting at key stations including Vijayawada, Salem, Erode, Palakkad, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, and Chengannur.
Train No. 07103/07104 (Machilipatnam–Kollam) – 10 trips via Guntur, Nandyal, Kadapa, and Renigunta, with stops at Markapur Road, Erode, Aluva, and an additional halt at Diguvamaetta on the return journey.
Train No. 07105/07106 (Narsapur–Kollam) – 20 trips via Vijayawada, Gudur, and Renigunta, covering Bhimavaram, Palakollu, Tiruppur, and Kottayam.
Train No. 07107/07108 (Charlapalli–Kollam) – 20 trips via Guntur, Gudur, and Renigunta, stopping at Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Salem, Erode, and Ernakulam Town.
SCR officials said these services are intended to enhance passenger convenience and ensure seamless connectivity for devotees visiting Sabarimala. Pilgrims are advised to check detailed schedules and book tickets early to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
