Top Police Officials Review Damage After Fatal Accidental Explosion in Srinagar
Srinagar, Nov 15: Senior officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday visited Police Station Nowgam to assess the situation following the overnight accidental explosion that killed nine people and left 29 injured.
J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat reached the site early in the morning, reviewed the extent of the damage and received a detailed briefing from officers present at the scene before departing.
IGP Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi also visited the blast site, taking firsthand stock of the circumstances that led to the explosion.
Earlier, a senior security official confirmed to KNC that the accidental blast inside the Nowgam police station resulted in nine fatalities and 29 injuries, most of them police and forensic personnel.
Further investigations into the cause of the explosion are underway.
