Apple Unveils Limited Edition iPhone Grip and Stand Priced Above ₹6,200

Apple Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand brings accessibility-focused design, ergonomic comfort, and MagSafe convenience in a premium limited edition release.

Mumbai, Nov 21 : Apple has unveiled a new limited edition MagSafe accessory for iPhone users  the Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand, priced at $69.95 (around ₹6,200). The launch comes shortly after the introduction of the iPhone Pocket and marks Apple’s continued celebration of 40 years of accessibility innovation.

Created in collaboration with Los Angeles–based artist and industrial designer Bailey Hikawa, the accessory serves as both a grip and a stand, designed to enhance secure handling and enable hands-free viewing. Hikawa, known for her experimental and accessibility driven iPhone case designs, shaped the product specifically to offer ergonomic comfort.

Designed for Accessibility and Ease of Use

The Apple Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand attaches seamlessly via MagSafe, supporting both vertical and horizontal viewing angles. Its sculpted, ergonomic design caters to diverse accessibility needs — especially users with limited dexterity or difficulty holding an iPhone with one hand.

Hikawa revealed that the design evolved from extensive interviews with individuals across the accessibility spectrum, aiming to reduce physical strain while improving device stability. The grip features a soft-touch silicone finish, ensuring easy attachment, removal, and repositioning without effort.

Apple’s Head of Accessibility, Sarah Herrlinger, emphasized that the company is increasingly exploring accessories that address specific accessibility challenges, calling this product “one of many accessories that solve unique problems for some people.”

Limited Colours, Limited Availability

The accessory is available in two colours:

Chartreuse

Crater  a US exclusive shade crafted from recycled materials, available only through Apple’s online store.

The launch aligns with Apple’s broader accessibility initiatives rolled out this year, including Accessibility Nutrition Labels, Braille Access, Accessibility Reader, universal Live Captions, and the new Magnifier for Mac that leverages the iPhone camera.

Currently, the Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand is available only in select regions. However, with its accessibility-first approach, it stands out as one of Apple’s most meaningful accessories  even at its premium price.
