Red Fort Blast Accused Jasir Bilal Wani Remanded to 7-Day NIA Custody
Delhi court extends custody as NIA probes alleged drone modification, technical support in Red Fort blast case
NEW DELHI, Nov 27: A Delhi court on Thursday remanded Red Fort blast accused Jasir Bilal Wani to seven days’ custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The extension comes as the agency continues to probe his alleged role in providing technical support for terror activities.
Wani was produced before the court after the expiry of his earlier 10-day custody, granted by Principal Sessions and District Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna on November 18.
A resident of Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Wani was arrested by the NIA in Srinagar on November 17. According to investigators, he allegedly assisted terror operatives by modifying drones and attempting to assemble rockets ahead of the November 10 Red Fort blast.
The NIA is expected to question him further to trace the network involved and the technical preparations made for the attack.
