IndiGo Restores 9 Flights at Jammu Airport, Cancels 7 Departures from Srinagar

Airline restores nine flights from Jammu Airport while seven Srinagar departures remain cancelled amid nationwide pilot rostering disruptions.

Jammu/Srinagar, Dec 6: IndiGo on Saturday resumed nine of its 11 flights from Jammu Airport, offering relief to stranded passengers, but cancelled seven flights from Srinagar International Airport due to ongoing pilot-rostering issues affecting operations nationwide.

Officials said the airline had planned 36 flights from Srinagar on Saturday 18 arrivals and 18 departures. However, seven inbound and seven outbound IndiGo flights were cancelled, along with one flight from another carrier. Meanwhile, Jammu Airport saw partial restoration, though two services connecting the city with Mumbai and Hyderabad remain suspended.

Relieved passengers at Jammu expressed gratitude for the resumption. Rajni Goyal, who had been stranded for two days while attending a family wedding, said, “They were not informing us about the correct status of the flight. We kept waiting for nine hours a day at the airport. Now, thankfully, I can return to Delhi.”

Other travellers, however, voiced lingering concerns over uncertainty. Kashish, another passenger, said, “I am not sure whether I will actually fly to my destination because only nine of the 11 flights are operating today. The fare surge on alternate airlines and full trains has added to the frustration.”

Passengers criticised the airline’s handling of the situation, calling it “unprofessional” and alleging that disruptions caused unnecessary inconvenience.

Officials are monitoring the situation and further updates on flight operations from both airports are expected.
