Ramban Teacher Suspended in J&K Over Alleged Misconduct
Government school teacher placed under immediate suspension over objectionable social media posts
JAMMU, Dec 11: The Chief Education Office (CEO) Ramban has suspended a government school teacher under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, following allegations of objectionable social media activity.
According to an official order issued on Wednesday, Balwant Singh, Teacher Grade-II at Government Primary School Killaseri in Batote Zone, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect. During this period, he will remain attached to the office of the Chief Education Officer, Ramban.
Official sources said the action was taken after the teacher allegedly posted objectionable and insensitive content on social media, reportedly targeting a particular community. The posts triggered concern among locals, prompting swift administrative intervention.
The suspension order (No. CEO/R/2025/32497-500) has been forwarded to the Director School Education Jammu and the District Development Commissioner Ramban for information. The Zonal Education Officer, Batote, has also been directed to initiate all necessary follow-up measures.
