Temporary Baggage Belt Malfunction at Mumbai Terminal 2 May Cause Minor Delays; Airline Assures Swift Resolution
India, Dec 27 : IndiGo on Saturday issued a travel advisory for passengers following a temporary baggage belt malfunction at Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 2, warning of possible minor delays at check in and during baggage collection.
The airline assured travellers that ground teams are coordinating with airport authorities to quickly resolve the issue and minimise disruption. In a post on X, IndiGo said, “We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may cause and understand how it can impact your plans. Our teams are on site, working swiftly with airport partners to expedite the resolution and support customers throughout the process.”
IndiGo added, “We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore a smooth and hassle free travel experience.” Passengers are urged to stay updated on flight status via the airline’s official channels.
The advisory follows IndiGo’s earlier notice on Thursday regarding flight disruptions due to dense fog and low visibility in Bangalore. The airline emphasised that it is closely monitoring weather conditions to ensure safe and timely travel.
In recent operational updates, IndiGo confirmed maintaining stability ahead of the holiday season, operating 2,100–2,200 flights every three days and serving over one million passengers during this period.
Looking ahead, IndiGo will introduce India’s first Airbus A321XLR on January 23, 2026, connecting Delhi and Mumbai with Athens, marking a milestone in the airline’s medium to long haul capabilities.
