Kashmiri Cricketer Faces Enquiry for Wearing Palestinian Logo on Helmet
Preliminary probe initiated to verify facts and assess intent after video circulates on social media
Jammu, Jan 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police have ordered a 14-day preliminary enquiry after a video surfaced on social media showing a Kashmiri cricketer wearing a helmet displaying a Palestinian logo while playing cricket at the KC Door area of Muthi.
The cricketer has been identified as Furqan Ul Haq, son of Tajamul Hussain Bhat, a resident of Tangipuna in Pulwama district.
Given the sensitivity of the issue and its potential implications for public order, the enquiry has been initiated under Section 173(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita at Police Station Domana.
Police officials said the enquiry will verify the facts of the incident, examine the intent behind the act, review the background of the individual, and explore any possible linkages related to the display of the logo.
