Government to Digitise Land Use Change and Mutation Processes
Yogi Adityanath government introduces online platform to simplify land title and mutation applications
Lucknow, Jan 5: In a major push towards digitisation, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is set to simplify land related administrative processes by introducing technology driven solutions for land use changes and mutation applications.
To ensure transparency and ease of access for residents approaching sub registrar offices, the government has sought the assistance of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to develop an online platform. The dedicated portal will handle applications digitally, eliminating the need for multiple office visits.
The Stamp and Registration Department, in coordination with the Board of Revenue, is working to provide digital copies of land records to the service provider. Under Sections 34 and 80 of the relevant codes, applicants can seek land title mutation and land use changes through this platform.
A senior officer said, “All formalities and paperwork will be completed digitally, with automated system generated responses highlighting any pending actions required to process applications.” The portal will also display the status of land titles, past transactions, disputes, and pending clearances, along with a step by step update on the application process.
The government has set February 28 as the deadline for the rollout of these digital services, which are expected to benefit lakhs of farmers, property owners, residents, and entrepreneurs, making land administration faster, transparent, and more efficient.
