Pathankot Teen Arrested for Leaking Sensitive Security Information to ISI
Minor allegedly in contact with Pakistani terror agencies for a year, police recover evidence of sensitive location videos.
Pathankot, Jan 6: Punjab Police on Monday arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly sharing sensitive national security information with Pakistani terror agencies, including the ISI and Pakistan military officials, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pathankot, Daljinder Singh Dhillon, confirmed that the minor, identified as Sanjeev Kumar, had been in contact with these agencies for nearly a year. “The accused was supplying information related to the security of our nation to frontal organizations of terror agencies, including ISI and Pakistan military officers,” SSP Dhillon said.
Police revealed that Kumar was lured through social media, exploiting his emotional vulnerability stemming from a false belief that his father had been murdered. Investigations, however, found no evidence supporting this claim.
The teenager allegedly shared videos of sensitive locations and maintained contact with gangsters in Pakistan running a terror module. “He fell into the trap of Pakistani agencies via social media and sent videos of various locations while staying in touch with operatives involved in terror activities. Investigations are ongoing,” Dhillon added.
This arrest follows a broader crackdown in December 2025, when Punjab Police, with support from central and state agencies, busted an ISI-backed terror module linked to a grenade attack in Gurdaspur. DIG Border Range Sandeep Goyal said the network, led by terrorist Shahzad Bhatti along with Zeeshan Akhtar and Amandeep Singh alias Aman Pannu, was planning multiple strikes aimed at stoking communal tensions. Police had already foiled one attack by recovering weapons and arresting two operatives.
