Air Force Cadet Dies in Road Accident Involving Speeding Thar
18 year old Anaya Sharma dies on spot; police seize SUV and search for absconding driver
Jaipur, Jan 21: Tragedy struck near Shanti Bagh on the Express Highway when 18-year-old Air Force aspirant Anaya Sharma was fatally hit by an overspeeding Thar while on a morning jog. Sharma, a resident of Jhunjhunu living in Jhotwara, was preparing for the armed forces’ physical test.
Police said she had stopped by the roadside waiting for a friend during the jog when the SUV, coming from the 200-Feet Ajmer Road side, struck her with force. She was declared dead on arrival at Kanwatia Hospital.
Traffic accident unit (West) in charge Ram Kripal Meena confirmed that the Thar was seized and the driver detained after fleeing the scene. A search is underway for the absconding motorist.
Police have launched further investigations to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal collision.
