Assam Govt Clears Job Registration for Moran Community in Arunachal Pradesh
Move expected to expand access to government employment; OBC reservation for Chutia community also approved
Assam, Jan 28 : The Assam government has approved a proposal allowing members of the Moran community residing in Arunachal Pradesh to register at the employment exchange in Tinsukia district, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting, Sarma said the decision aims to widen employment opportunities for the community. Eligible individuals from the Moran community living in Arunachal Pradesh will be able to register provided they hold valid Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC) and OBC certificates issued by the Assam government.
The Chief Minister said the move will enable these candidates to participate in government recruitment processes and benefit from employment related schemes in Assam, strengthening their access to formal job avenues.
In another decision, the cabinet approved reservation of one OBC post for the next five competitive examinations to support the socio-economic upliftment of the Chutia community.
The cabinet also cleared a loan of ₹200.36 crore from NABARD to fund 27 development projects across the state.
