Trump Gives Iran 10–15‑Day Deadline for Nuclear Deal, Warns of ‘Unfortunate’ Consequences

US President demands Iran agree to nuclear deal within 10–15 days as Washington boosts military presence in the region.

US, Feb 20: In a stern message to Tehran, US President Donald Trump announced that Iran must accept a nuclear deal with the United States within the next 10 to 15 days or face “unfortunate” consequences, highlighting escalating tensions between the two nations.

Speaking to reporters, Trump emphasized the seriousness of the deadline without specifying potential military actions. “We’re either going to get a deal, or it’s going to be unfortunate,” he said, signaling a narrow window for diplomacy.

The ultimatum comes amid the largest US air and naval deployment to West Asia since 2003, with carrier strike groups, fighter jets, and advanced air defence systems positioned across the region. Analysts note that this build up could enable strikes on Iran as soon as this weekend, though no final decision has been made.

Addressing the Board of Peace, Trump warned that Iran must choose between a negotiated agreement or “a very different path,” stressing that Tehran cannot continue to threaten regional stability. “They must make a deal,” he said.

US demands include a halt to uranium enrichment and reductions in Iran’s nuclear programme conditions Tehran has historically rejected. While diplomatic channels remain open, Washington’s posture signals readiness to escalate if Iran fails to comply.
