DGAT Denies Backlog of Contract Payments in Treasuries
Finance department says all Capex funds released, urges media to verify reports
Jammu, Mar 13: The Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries has rejected reports suggesting delays in contractor payments, stating that all liabilities related to contract payments at treasuries have been cleared.
In an official statement, the department said recent media reports claiming a backlog of contractor payments were inaccurate and misleading.
The Directorate clarified that there is currently no pending liability related to contractor bills in treasuries and that payments have been processed as per the available allocations.
It also stated that the Finance Department has already released the full amount under the Capital Expenditure (Capex) head, ensuring smooth clearance of dues.
The department further urged media organisations to ensure balanced reporting and include the Finance Department’s position while publishing such matters.
