Jammu & Kashmir to Host Travel Mart on April 14–15 to Boost Tourism

Two-day event to bring together stakeholders nationwide with focus on cultural experiences and business networking

Jammu, Mar 20 — The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department is set to organise the Kashmir Travel Mart 2026 on April 14 and 15, aiming to promote the region as a leading travel destination and strengthen industry linkages.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced that the event will bring together around 250 participants from more than 20 states, including tour operators, travel professionals and other stakeholders from across the country.

The initiative is designed to showcase the Valley’s diverse offerings through curated experiences such as craft-based tours, destination showcases and structured business-to-business interactions. Organisers plan to provide visitors with an immersive glimpse into the region’s cultural heritage, scenic beauty and hospitality.

Officials view the travel mart as a strategic platform to boost tourism outreach, encourage partnerships and enhance visibility of Jammu and Kashmir in domestic and global travel markets.

The event is expected to play a key role in positioning Kashmir as a preferred destination by facilitating direct engagement between industry players and highlighting new opportunities in the tourism sector.
