Karnataka Orders Audit of Adolescent Pregnancies in Health System
State aims to integrate education, counselling, and healthcare interventions
Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has initiated a statewide audit to strengthen adolescent health monitoring, focusing on pregnancies among girls aged 10–18 years.
The move involves coordination between schools, healthcare workers, and social welfare departments to identify causes such as lack of education and awareness. Authorities plan to provide counselling, reproductive health education, and access to medical services, aiming to reduce early pregnancies and improve adolescent wellbeing.
