Sakeena Itoo expresses grief over Udhampur Bus accident

Directs emergency medical response, Round-the-Clock specialist care for injured passengers

JAMMU, APRIL 20: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo has expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the tragic loss of lives in the unfortunate bus accident on the Ramnagar–Udhampur route.

The Health Minister conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. She also expressed solidarity with the injured passengers, wishing them a speedy and complete recovery.

Taking immediate cognizance of the incident, the Minister issued urgent directions to the Principals of Government Medical College Jammu and Government Medical College Udhampur to ensure swift and coordinated medical response for all those injured.

She instructed the Principals of both medical facilities to keep emergency services on high alert and ensure prompt admission of all referred patients without delay.

“Deploy dedicated teams of senior doctors, trauma specialists, surgeons and paramedical staff for continuous monitoring and treatment. Maintain round-the-clock availability of specialist care, including critical care and surgical interventions wherever required”, Sakeena Itoo directed both Principals.

The Minister also asked them to ensure adequate availability of blood, essential medicines and life-saving equipment in emergency wards and ICUs, as well as establish a coordinated referral mechanism between hospitals to handle critical cases efficiently.

The Minister further directed that no laxity should be tolerated in the treatment of the injured and emphasized that all necessary medical facilities must be extended free of cost on priority.
