Delhi Government Restricts Advance School Fee Collection

Private Schools Warned Against Financial Pressure on Parents

New Delhi, May 03 : The Delhi Directorate of Education issued fresh guidelines directing private schools not to collect tuition fees for more than one month at a time.

The order followed multiple complaints from parents regarding demands for quarterly and annual advance payments. Authorities warned schools against imposing financial burdens on families through excessive fee collection practices.

Officials stated that institutions violating the guidelines could face regulatory action, including penalties and administrative scrutiny.

Parent associations welcomed the decision, saying it would provide financial relief to middle-class households already dealing with rising living expenses.
