Rome, May 18: World number one Jannik Sinner scripted history on Sunday after winning the Italian Open title and completing one of tennis’ rarest achievements  victory at all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments.

Sinner defeated Casper Ruud in the final to extend his remarkable dominance on clay courts ahead of the French Open later this month.

The triumph marked a historic milestone for the Italian star, who became the youngest player to achieve the feat and only the second tennis player after Novak Djokovic to complete the prestigious Masters collection.

Italian fans packed the stadium in Rome to celebrate Sinner’s achievement as the home favourite delivered another composed performance filled with powerful baseline rallies and consistent serving.
