Poonch Administration Suspends Employee Leave Ahead of High-Profile VIP Visit
Government employees directed to remain available for duty as district gears up for June 7 programme under the “100 Days of Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan–2026”
Poonch, June 4: In preparation for a high-level programme scheduled under the “100 Days of Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan 2026,” the district administration in Poonch has introduced temporary measures aimed at ensuring smooth coordination and effective execution of the event on June 7.
An official circular issued by the Deputy Commissioner has instructed all government departments to maintain full staff availability during the run up to the proposed visit. The directive emphasizes the importance of administrative readiness and coordinated participation in activities linked to the anti-drug awareness initiative.
Under the instructions, leave requests from government employees will generally remain suspended until the conclusion of the programme. Exceptions will be considered only in extraordinary circumstances and after obtaining approval from the designated authority. Officials have also been advised to refrain from submitting leave applications during this period unless faced with unavoidable situations.
The administration has made participation in the June 7 event mandatory for government personnel posted across the district, except for those specifically exempted through official orders. The move is intended to ensure adequate manpower and seamless management of arrangements associated with the campaign.
District and sectoral officers have been tasked with monitoring attendance and ensuring that employees under their supervision comply with the directives. Responsibility for implementing the instructions has been placed directly on departmental heads and supervisory officers.
Authorities have cautioned that any absence without authorization or disregard for the issued guidelines will invite action under the relevant service regulations. The administration reiterated that adherence to the directions is essential for the successful conduct of the programme and related official engagements.
All departments have been asked to extend full cooperation and ensure strict implementation of the orders to facilitate the smooth organization of activities connected with the district level anti-drug campaign event.
