Ranbir Kapoor Responds to Criticism Over Ramayana VFX
The actor defends the film’s visual effects as debate grows over the trailer’s computer generated imagery.
NEW DELHI, Aug 13: Actor Ranbir Kapoor has responded to criticism surrounding the visual effects in Ramayana, after sections of the audience questioned the computer generated imagery featured in the film’s recently released trailer.
Ranbir described some of the online reactions as coming from “CGI critics” and questioned the basis of judging the visual effects without experiencing the film in the format for which it was designed.
The actor, who plays Lord Rama in the much-awaited project, highlighted the extensive work undertaken by artists and technicians involved in creating the film’s visual world.
Producer Namit Malhotra has also defended the technical scale of Ramayana, urging audiences to experience the movie on a large-format screen. The film has been mounted as an ambitious cinematic adaptation and features extensive visual effects.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor alongside Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, while Yash features as Ravana.
The film has generated considerable interest ahead of its theatrical release, with its trailer prompting widespread discussion about its casting, scale and visual presentation.
Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled to arrive in theatres during the Diwali period this year, with the makers positioning it as a major large screen spectacle.
