India-Japan Strengthen Cooperation in Semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence

New Delhi, Aug 27: India and Japan are stepping up cooperation in semiconductors and artificial intelligence, with both sides placing advanced technology at the centre of their broader economic security partnership.
The developments followed a high-level industry roundtable and bilateral discussions in Tokyo involving government officials, industry representatives and technology stakeholders. The talks focused on strengthening collaboration in chip manufacturing, AI, investment and advanced technologies.
The two countries are also looking to build more reliable technology supply chains as demand for semiconductors rises across industries. Cooperation in research, talent development and investment is expected to support the expansion of their respective technology ecosystems.
Semiconductors have become increasingly important to both economies as chips are required for smartphones, automobiles, telecommunications equipment, artificial intelligence systems and advanced computing infrastructure.
