Pilot, Flight Instructor Killed as Training Aircraft Crashes in Kanpur

Kanpur, Aug 27: Trainee pilot and a flight instructor were killed on Thursday after a training aircraft crashed near the banks of the Ganga in Kanpur, police said.
The Tecnam aircraft, operated by Garg Aviation, took off at around 11:30 am and came down roughly 20 minutes later near Nathapurwa village in the Katri area, according to Kanpur Commissioner of Police Raghubir Lal.
Both occupants died in the accident, the senior police official said.
The circumstances that led to the aircraft going down were not immediately clear. Authorities are expected to examine the aircraft and gather other evidence as part of efforts to determine the cause of the crash.
The incident occurred during a routine training flight, though further details about the flight and the identities of those killed were not immediately available.
