India IPO Market Set for Busy Week With Rs 7,200 Crore Fundraising Target
Eleven mainboard companies and five SME firms are scheduled to tap the primary market as IPO activity accelerates
NEW DELHI, Sept 7: India’s primary market is set for an active week, with 16 companies preparing to launch initial public offerings (IPOs) that could collectively raise around Rs 7,200 crore.
The upcoming offerings include 11 mainboard companies and five small and medium enterprise (SME) firms, highlighting continued investor interest in India’s equity fundraising market.
The latest fundraising activity comes at a time when the broader stock market is facing pressure from global economic uncertainty, higher crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions.
Despite the volatility in secondary markets, companies continue to explore the IPO route to raise capital and provide investors with opportunities to participate in new listings.
The surge in primary market activity is also being viewed as a precursor to several major offerings expected later this month.
The much-anticipated IPO of the National Stock Exchange is expected to seek around Rs 30,000 crore, while Jio Platforms is reportedly preparing an even larger offering that could target approximately Rs 37,000 crore.
The expected pipeline could make September an important month for India’s capital markets, particularly if large offerings proceed as anticipated.
Market observers will be watching subscription levels, valuations and listing performance closely, as strong investor participation could encourage more companies to pursue public-market fundraising.
The sustained flow of IPOs also reflects the expanding role of India’s equity markets in providing businesses with access to fresh capital while broadening investment opportunities for retail and institutional investors.
