Amitabh Bachchan Dismisses Retirement Rumours, Says He Will Continue Working
The veteran actor clarified that his recent reference to retirement was about going to bed and not stepping away from his professional commitments.
Mumbai: Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has dismissed speculation that he is preparing to retire from the entertainment industry, clarifying that a recent reference to “retire” in his blog was misunderstood.
The rumours emerged after Bachchan wrote that it was late and “time to retire” in a recent post. The remark was interpreted by some reports as a possible indication that he planned to leave acting and other professional commitments.
Addressing the speculation, Bachchan clarified that he was referring to going to bed rather than announcing his departure from work. He also criticised the way the remark had been interpreted and shared a newspaper clipping while explaining the context.
The 83-year-old actor continues to remain active professionally and is currently hosting the 18th season of “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, the television quiz show he has hosted since its launch in 2000.
Bachchan’s clarification comes as he continues to maintain a busy presence across film and television projects. His statement has reassured fans who had become concerned after the retirement reports circulated.
The actor’s comments effectively put to rest the immediate speculation surrounding his future in the entertainment industry, while reaffirming that he has no plans to stop working anytime soon.
