CCI Delegation Meets DRM Jammu, Raises Concerns of Shopkeepers and Tourists

Jammu, 22-09-2026: A delegation of shopkeepers from Shiv Market and Mangal Market met Shri Vivek Kumar, IRS, Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, and raised issues being faced by traders and tourists due to changes in entry and exit arrangements at the railway station.

The delegation was led by Shri Anil Gupta, Senior Vice President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Shri Rajiv Gupta, Junior Vice President, CCI. During the meeting, Shri Anil Gupta apprised the DRM about the difficulties being faced by tourists, passengers and shopkeepers, particularly regarding entry from the main gate and exit from the Narwal side.

He said the issue has affected the smooth movement of visitors and created inconvenience for tourists and local traders. The delegation requested the Railway authorities to restore the earlier arrangement in the larger interest of passengers, tourists and the business community.

The DRM gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured the Chamber and shopkeepers that the earlier operation would be restarted before Navratra. He also discussed the future plan for modernization of Jammu Railway Station and informed the delegation about steps being considered to improve passenger facilities and overall station infrastructure.

The delegation thanked Shri Vivek Kumar, DRM Jammu, for giving time to the Chamber and shopkeepers and for assuring early action on the matter.
