Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the Telugu family entertainer earned Rs 9.50 crore net in India and Rs 5.50 crore overseas on its opening day.
Hyderabad, Oct 31: Telugu superstar Venkatesh Daggubati’s latest family entertainer Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 has made a promising start at the worldwide box office, collecting an estimated Rs 16.65 crore in gross earnings on its opening day.
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film arrived in theatres worldwide on October 30 and recorded a decent response from audiences across domestic and overseas markets. Its opening performance has provided an encouraging beginning for the actor director combination, which has generated considerable interest among Telugu cinema enthusiasts.
According to box-office tracking figures reported by Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 9.50 crore in net earnings in India on its first day. Its domestic gross collection stood at Rs 11.15 crore, while overseas markets contributed approximately Rs 5.50 crore.
The combined worldwide gross of Rs 16.65 crore reflects the contribution of international audiences alongside the film’s strong regional following.
The opening figures also indicate that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remain the biggest markets for the Venkatesh-starrer. The two Telugu-speaking states contributed approximately Rs 9.25 crore to the domestic gross collection, accounting for the overwhelming majority of its Indian theatrical earnings.
Karnataka emerged as another important market, contributing around Rs 1.40 crore. Tamil Nadu recorded approximately Rs 30 lakh, while the rest of India contributed Rs 18 lakh. Kerala accounted for around Rs 2 lakh.
The film was released across 3,073 tracked shows in India and recorded an overall theatre occupancy of approximately 44.1 per cent, according to the reported estimates.
Its performance improved as the day progressed, suggesting that evening and night screenings attracted a stronger audience response than morning shows.
Telugu 2D screenings recorded an overall occupancy of around 44.83 per cent. Morning shows registered approximately 34.46 per cent occupancy, which increased to 37.15 per cent during afternoon screenings and 46 per cent in the evening.
Night shows witnessed the strongest response, recording approximately 61.69 per cent occupancy.
The film also performed particularly well in the premium Telugu EPIQ format in Hyderabad, where overall occupancy reportedly reached 93.5 per cent. Night screenings in this format recorded full occupancy, reflecting the enthusiasm among audiences in the city.
The opening-day performance has placed Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 among the notable Telugu releases of the year, although its longer-term box-office prospects will depend on audience feedback and its ability to maintain collections during the opening weekend.
The film’s advance booking performance had already indicated interest ahead of its theatrical debut. According to Sacnilk’s tracking figures, pre-release bookings across its initial sales window generated substantial business, with opening-day sales providing a foundation for its theatrical performance.
The film’s second-day advance bookings also showed continued interest, with Saturday screenings attracting additional ticket sales.
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 brings together a combination of family drama, comedy and emotional storytelling. The narrative revolves around Chittibabu, Swarna and their household at House No. 47.
The family’s apparently peaceful existence takes an unexpected turn when hidden secrets and unresolved tensions begin to emerge. The story explores relationships, family responsibilities and the complicated situations that can develop within a household.
Venkatesh plays the central character, while Srinidhi Shetty appears as the female lead. The pairing has generated interest among viewers, particularly because of the different cinematic backgrounds of the two performers.
Srinidhi Shetty became widely recognised following her appearance in the KGF franchise, while Venkatesh has remained one of the most established performers in Telugu cinema for several decades.
The supporting cast includes Nara Rohith, Nivetha Pethuraj, Vennela Kishore, Satya Akkala, Rao Ramesh and Brahmaji. The ensemble brings together actors known for their work in family dramas, comedy and commercial Telugu films.
For Trivikram Srinivas, the project marks another collaboration with a major Telugu star. The director has developed a reputation for combining family relationships, humour, emotional conflicts and commercial entertainment in his films.
His storytelling approach has attracted audiences through several successful projects, including Athadu, Julayi, Attarintiki Daredi, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Guntur Kaaram.
The association with Venkatesh has also attracted attention because the actor has built a long-standing reputation for family-oriented entertainment.
Often recognised for his ability to balance comedy with emotional performances, Venkatesh has delivered several successful films across different genres. His filmography includes classics and commercial entertainers such as Bobbili Raja, Chanti, Preminchukundam Raa, Kalisundam Raa, Malliswari and F2: Fun and Frustration.
In recent years, the actor has continued to experiment with different roles while maintaining his connection with family audiences.
The latest release also comes at a time when Telugu cinema is witnessing strong competition from large-scale productions and films targeting audiences across India.
The growing popularity of regional-language films in international markets has encouraged filmmakers to develop projects that combine familiar cultural themes with wider commercial appeal.
Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 has attempted to attract audiences through its established leading actor, popular director and ensemble supporting cast.
Its opening-day overseas collection of Rs 5.50 crore is a notable contribution to the overall earnings. International markets have become increasingly important for Telugu productions, particularly those featuring actors with established fan bases among Indian communities abroad.
The film’s domestic performance, however, remains heavily dependent on the Telugu-speaking regions. The contribution from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana demonstrates the importance of these markets in determining its commercial trajectory.
The strong night-show occupancy in Hyderabad has also provided an encouraging indication of audience interest. The city remains one of the most important centres for Telugu film releases, with significant theatre capacity and a large moviegoing population.
The film’s performance during Saturday and Sunday screenings will be closely watched, as weekend collections often provide a clearer picture of whether an opening is driven primarily by initial fan interest or broader audience acceptance.
Positive word of mouth could help the film maintain its theatrical presence, while competition from other releases may influence its performance in the coming days.
The makers will also be looking towards sustained occupancy in major urban centres and overseas territories to strengthen its worldwide earnings.
With a runtime of approximately two hours and 30 minutes, the film offers a full-length family entertainment experience.
The opening-day figures have given the Venkatesh starrer a respectable beginning, but its overall commercial success will ultimately depend on how audiences respond to its storytelling, performances and entertainment value.
For Venkatesh, the film provides another opportunity to connect with his established family audience, while Trivikram Srinivas will be looking to strengthen his record with a theatrical entertainer.
As the first weekend progresses, Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 is expected to remain among the Telugu releases attracting considerable box-office attention.
