Federation of Industries (FOIJ) Demands Extension of Power Amnesty Scheme up to 31-03-2022
Request to notify the Samaadhaan Scheme by Power Development Department for the settlement of Old Pending Cases of Industrial Units.
12-05-2021: Sh. Lalit Mahajan, Chairman, Federation of Industries, Jammu draws the kind attention of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha & Sh. Rohit Kansal (IAS), Principal Secretary, Power Development Department towards the Industrial Sector of Jammu & Kashmir who is still suffering due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation since ending March 2020 till date resulting number of units not availed of the Power Amnesty Scheme which was valid till 30-11-2020 due to Financial Crunch.
It is pertinent to mention here that numbers of cases of Industrial Units pending with the Power Development Department due to dispute arose out in respect of Power Arrears of the Units closed since long with the disconnection of Power but the Department is still charging the Minimum Demand charges along with the Compounded Interest from the date of disconnection whereas as per the JKSERC Tariff only Simple Interest should be charged resulting dispute arisen between the Department & Unitholders.
We request Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha & Sh. Rohit Kansal (IAS), Principal Secretary, Power Development Department to consider our request for the extension of the Power Amnesty Scheme as notified by Govt. Order No- 140-JKPDD-2020 dated 28-08-2020 which was extended up to 30-11-2020 with the further extension of the same up to 31-03-2022 which will also help for the recovery of long-pending arrears of the Power Development Department & also request to notify the Samaadhaan Scheme by Power Development Department for the settlement of Old Pending Cases of Industrial Units.
